Book lovers like myself (and all you Beneath the Book Clubbers) have another reason to celebrate.

Frames Etc., located in downtown Stephenville, has completely renovated its bookstore.

377 Books at Frames Etc. is no longer just a place to purchase gently-used books; it’s now a charming, colorful space where you can browse 1,500 new titles and releases, sit by a cozy electric fireplace and read, and of course, search through a fantastic selection of used books.

“We now offer the best of both worlds for book lovers,” owner Julie Lowrance told Beneath the Surface News.

“There has been a resurgence in books and our customers have been asking us to expand our bookstore, so we finally did.

“We have been working on the space for months. We all love to read too, so this has been a lot of fun.”

GRAND RE-OPENING CELEBRATION THIS WEEKEND

377 Books at Frames Etc. will host its grand re-opening celebration on Saturday, April 25, which coincides with Indie Bookstore Day

Saturday’s event at 377 Books will include all-day specials and giveaways, pop-ups selling baked goods, sodas and flowers and a book signing by James Plyant.

“We have copies of all his books,” Julie said.

Last year, Beneath the Surface News did a story about the 100-year anniversary of the infamous murders in Stephenville.

You can read it here.

Plyant wrote a book about the case called Blood Legacy: The True Story of the Snow Axe Murder.

That book will also be available for signing on Saturday.
