Foster’s Home for Children is gearing up for its largest fundraiser of the year.
The 23rd annual auction will take place on Saturday, March 7, on the foster home campus in Stephenville.
The live and silent auctions take place from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Doug Young, president of Foster’s Home for Children, told Beneath the Surface News that the annual auction is the organization’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
“We will have used vehicles, fibergrate, lawn equipment, all kinds of furniture, dishes and maybe even some golf clubs,” he said.
“We have a whole barn full of stuff that we will auction off.”
Lunch, which includes sandwiches for $5, will be available beginning at 11:30.
The Foster’s Home currently serves 40 kids and an additional 12 young adults.
One of the neat things about the event is that all of the foster homes will make desserts, which will also be auctioned off.
The money from that is used to fund summer vacations for the families.
