Final push to legalize alcohol sales is underway; petition deadline is Friday.
Texas Petition Strategies of Austin is making its final push to secure all the necessary signatures on a petition to get a measure to legalize alcohol sales on the ballot in November.
John Hatch is heading up the effort. He told Beneath the Surface News on Tuesday that “things are looking good.”
“We are down to just few days and it looks like we will get there,” he said. “But we still hope that people who have not signed the petition will do so this week. We will turn it into Erath County officials on Friday.”
The petitions can be signed at Casa Azteca, Hearsay Wine Bar, Bull Nettle, Greer’s Ranch Café, Jasper’s Café and The Purple Goat.
If the 4,400 signatures are gathered by the June 4 deadline, residents will get the chance to vote on the measure on Nov. 2.
