Companion Senior Care and Wings Over Texas Hospice are partnering to host monthly events to educate the public on a variety of healthcare-related topics.

This month’s Erath County Healthcare Conversations will present “navigating marketplace insurance.”

The event will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 16, at the Cross Timbers Legacy Center in Stephenville.

It will begin with an hour-long game of bingo followed by lunch and a discussion about available insurance plans and how to make the correct choice for you, led by Connie Cholewinski.

The event is free and open to the public.

“We want to encourage the community at large to attend, have lunch with us and gain insight into the insurance industry,” Rozina Pittman, with Companion Senior Care, told Beneath the Surface News.

“Knowing your options, your choices and your rights ahead of time of need, is a valuable tool to have, especially in high-anxiety situations, which many healthcare events can turn into.”

If you would like to submit a question before the July 16 event, email rozina@companioninhomeseniorcare.com or selrod@wotxhospice.com.

FPX Assessments: Driving Academic Growth Through Competency and Real-World Engagement

Introduction

In the modern educational environment, assessing students purely through exams and rote memorization no longer meets the needs of learners or employers. Institutions are increasingly turning to evaluation models help with capella flexpath assessments that emphasize skill mastery, critical thinking, and the application of knowledge. FPX Assessments exemplify this evolution, offering a competency-based approach that measures what students can do with what they know, rather than what they can recall under test conditions.

How to Balance Nursing Practicums and Heavy Coursework

Navigating upper-level healthcare education requires far more than basic bedside competence or technical clinical execution; it demands an entirely new level of analytical precision, systemic design, and scholarly endurance. For many practicing professionals returning to school, the true shock lies in the vast gap between real-world clinical comfort and the rigorous writing style enforced by university rubrics. Today's healthcare organizations are looking for advanced nurse leaders who can act as systemic change agents, interpret complex public health data, and defend evidence-based interventions in formal documentation. When you are struggling to balance exhausting twelve-hour floor shifts with the endless reading requirements of a rigorous curriculum, conquering critical program milestones like your NURS FPX…

This luncheon is such a fantastic resource for our community! Navigating healthcare options can feel completely overwhelming, but having experts break down the details makes a world of difference. I really appreciate how these sessions emphasize the importance of finding Personalized Insurance that actually fits your specific needs rather than just settling for a one-size-fits-all plan. It’s comforting to know we have local support to help us make sense of it all. If you’re feeling confused by your current coverage, definitely head over—it’s a great way to feel empowered about your health choices!
