One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Pasta, a lovable five to six-year-old Hound/Lab mix who's been waiting far too long for her happily ever after.
“She first came to us in March 2023, was adopted in 2025, and was heartbreakingly returned because of housing issues,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.
This adventurous girl loves long walks, car rides, treats and curling up on the couch after a day of fun.
She's housebroken, crate trained, and has done well with kids, strangers, dogs and livestock.
“Pasta is dog selective and does best with slow introductions to new dogs, prefers male or smaller canine friends, and should be fed separately,” Serena said.
She also needs a secure yard with a five-foot fence and an active family.
Pasta is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative after completing treatment.
“If you're looking for a loyal best friend who will be your adventure buddy by day and your couch companion by night, Pasta is ready to steal your heart,” Serena said.
Erina is a beautiful nine to 10-month-old kitten that was found as a stray and never reclaimed.
"Despite her rough start, this sweet girl is full of love and affection,” Serena said.
“She's always waiting at the front of her kennel, hoping for pets and attention, and the moment you start loving on her, she melts right into your arms.”
While she hasn't been formally tested with other animals, she doesn't seem to mind her feline neighbors.
Erina is litterbox trained, spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, partially vaccinated and pending a microchip.
