One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Gordon, a five to six-year-old shepherd mix with a big heart.
Found as a stray and never reclaimed, Gordon hasn't let that dull his friendly spirit; he's been making friends since day one.
Gordon isn't shy about asking for love and will happily let you know when he's ready for pets, belly rubs or a hug.
“He's done well with other dogs, but will need slow, proper introductions and he hasn't been cat tested yet,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.
“Gordon is still working on his leash manners, so he'll need a patient adopter to help him polish his walking skills.”
He is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated (rabies will need to be updated by his adopter), and he's currently on slow-kill treatment for heartworms.
Freddy is a two to three-year-old domestic shorthair with a laid-back vibe and big love for attention.

Found as a stray and never reclaimed, he's ready to trade the streets for a cozy couch and forever home.
This sweet boy is a professional biscuit maker who loves being close to his people - whether he's giving head butts, getting right in your face for attention or just hanging out nearby,” Serena said.
Freddy is litterbox trained, great with people and has an easygoing personality that makes him a wonderful companion.
He enjoys relaxing most of the time, but still has a playful side, especially when it comes to string toys.
Freddy is neutered, microchipped, dewormed and vaccinated (rabies will need to be updated by his adopter).
