Love a good peach cobbler, but hate the time it takes to make one?

I call this recipe a “cheater peach cobbler” but it’s got all the deliciousness your family will love!

Oh, and this will make a great dish to serve on the Fourth of July.

WHAT YOU NEED

29 oz can of peaches

1/4 cup salted butter

1/2 cup flour

1 cup white sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1/3 cup milk

1 egg

Dash of vanilla

Dash of cinnamon

1/4 cup brown sugar

HOW TO MAKE IT

This recipe calls for an 8x8 dish, but you can use a 9x13 if you want to double it.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees; place dish with butter into the oven until butter is melted.

In a bowl, mix white sugar, flour, baking powder and cinnamon; add egg, milk and vanilla.

Mix together until blended (but don’t over mix).

Take dish out of the oven and pour in the batter.

Pull peach slices from the can and place on top of batter.

Top with brown sugar and bake for 45 minutes.

Serve warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream.

PRO TIP: Don’t toss the peach syrup.

If you live in Texas and you love sun tea as much as I do, put some water in a tea jar, pour in syrup, then put your tea bags in.

Let it bask in the sunlight for a batch of sweet peach tea.
