One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Bear, a charming, talkative dog that arrived at the shelter as a stray and never reclaimed.
“Despite his rough start, Bear has shown himself to be a sweet, social companion who thrives on human interaction,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.
“He loves to ‘chat’ with his people and is always ready for a dip in the kiddie pool - it's one of his favorite pastimes!”
Bear is great with other dogs, friendly with strangers and does well around kids and livestock.
He's crate trained and should be crated when left alone, as he's not yet fully housebroke.
Bear also rides well in the car and enjoys outings, making him a fun and easy travel buddy.
He walks nicely on a leash, loves to explore and will do best in a home where he gets plenty of love and attention.
Bear is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.
Persephone is a sweet and gentle soul looking for her forever home.
She was also found as a stray and never reclaimed.
“Since coming into our care, she has shown herself to be a loving and well-mannered cat,” Serena said.
“She uses her litter box reliably and has quickly adapted to indoor life.”
Persephone enjoys a calm environment and gentle attention.
“While we don't have information about how she interacts with other animals, her affectionate personality suggests she will thrive in a variety of home settings with the right introductions and patience,” Serena said.
Persephone is fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped.
