A shy, beautiful cat and dog that chases squirrels are this week’s featured pets.

Ashley

Say hi to Ashley the cat and Henry the dog; this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society.

Ashley is a one-year-old female domestic shorthair.

“She is a little on the shy side and tends to hide until she knows she is going to get attention,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “She is litter box trained, but tends to be a little messy so a covered litter box is recommended.”

Ashley is also microchipped.

Henry

“He is also shy when he first meets you, but will warm up,” Serena said. “He is very loud and intimidating when in his kennel here at the shelter, but when he gets out, he is a different dog.”

Henry does well on a leash and is very food motivated. He knows how to sit, lay down and shake and appears to get along well with other dogs.

“He likes to walk in the park, but will go after squirrels,” Serena said.

Henry is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

If you would like to meet Ashley, Henry or the other 76 dogs and 78 cats up for adoption, stop by the animal shelter located at 891 East Road in Stephenville where microchipping is only $10.
