With winter weather on the way, here’s what you need for snow ice cream. Don’t forget the sprinkles.

The Husband and I had a blast making snow ice cream last year.

Another batch of that rare powdery goodness appears to be on its way to North Texas, and if it sticks around in Erath County, there’s only one responsible thing to do: Make snow ice cream!

This super easy recipe includes just 4 ingredients you likely already have, but if you don’t there is still time to make a run to the store before that blast of winter air arrives on Wednesday.

The Husband and I used this recipe twice last year.

Not only is snow ice cream fun to make, it’s actually really, really good.

Here’s what you need.

1 cup milk (any kind)

1/3 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

pinch of salt

8 cups clean snow

Sprinkles, chocolate sauce and whipped cream.

HOW TO MAKE SNOW ICE CREAM

In large bowl, whisk milk, sugar, vanilla and salt until well combined.

Scoop up fresh (clean) snow and immediately stir it into the milk mixture until you reach the desired consistency.

It melts quickly so act fast!

And whatever you do, don’t forget to top your bowl with sprinkles, chocolate sauce and whipped cream!
