Widespread freezing rain prompts winter weather advisory for Erath County.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Erath County through 3 p.m. Thursday.


“Widespread freezing rain is expected to develop (Wednesday) evening and continue into early Thursday afternoon. Ice accumulations of up to one-quarter inch will be likely, with local higher amounts possible.


“Travel conditions may become hazardous with minor damage to trees and power lines possible.”


Other counties included in the advisory are Eastland, Dallas, Comanche, Palo Pinto and Hood.
