White Horse Christian Academy invites veterans, local first responders to its annual Veteran’s Day lunch.
White Horse Christian Academy is hosting a very special event for local veterans and first responders.
The school’s annual Veteran’s Day lunch will be held from 11:15 a.m.-1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11, in the fellowship hall at First Baptist Church Stephenville.
The lunch will begin immediately following the Veteran’s Day service at the Erath County Courthouse square.
Veterans and first responders are invited to enjoy the home-cooked meal; no RSVP is required.
“The lunch will be potluck; all of our families bring something,” Vanessa Halford, executive director and founder of White Horse, told Beneath the Surface News.
“We will have chicken and beef, a little bit of everything.”
Vanessa said the event is especially meaningful for the students.
“All of our kids go down to the square for the ceremony and from there we go to the church for lunch,” she said.
“The students sit with the veterans and hear their stories. They just learn so much and get the chance to thank them for their service.”
