The list of candidates running for Stephenville City Council continues to grow.
Mark McClinton filed Wednesday to run for the unexpired term of Place 3, previously held by Mayor Lonn Reisman.
On Thursday, Nick Robinson filed for Place 7, currently held by councilman Brandon Greenhaw who is stepping down.
The special election to fill both unexpired terms will be held Saturday, May 2, in conjunction with the city’s general election.
Here’s a rundown of other council races:
Ricky Thurman has filed for Place 6, currently held by David Baskett.
Baskett said he will not seek another term.
Mayor Reisman, Gerald Cook (Place 2), Dean Parr (Place 4) and Alan Nix (Place 8) have all filed for re-election.
Cook will face a challenge from Jorge Moreno who also filed for Place 2.
The period to file for a place on the ballot in the general election (places 2, 4, 6 and 8) ends Feb. 13.
The deadline to file in the special election (places 3 and 7) is March 3.

I appreciate the local civic engagement and growth in candidates for Stephenville City Council. It’s great to see residents step up to serve. Also consider the broader financial tools people discuss today, like portfolio margin access https://institutional.whitebit.com/portfolio-margin-access which highlights how access to funding is evolving. Let’s keep community dialogue respectful and focused on positive impact.
