This week’s featured pets include a ‘big lug’ that likes squeaky toys and a shy cat.

Hannibal

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Hannibal, a two to three-year-old male Pointer mix that has been at the shelter for more than 10 months.

“He is a very strong dog that loves to be outside; he is full of energy,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “He does need some leash work and a strong owner willing to train him.

“He is a big lug that loves people and squeaky toys.”

Hannibal does not like other male dogs, but does like the ladies. He should not be in a home with cats or livestock.

Hannibal is neutered, fully vaccinated, heart worm negative and on prevention. Amy is a three-year-old female Domestic Longhair.

“She is a little shy and will hide until she is comfortable in her surroundings,” Serena said. “She is very talkative and once she is over her shyness, she is a snuggle bug.”

Amy gets along well with other cats and dogs, is litter box trained and microchipped.

If you would like to meet Hannibal, Amy or the other 70 dogs and 33 cats that need homes, stop by the animal shelter located at 891 East Road in Stephenville.
