Say hi to Duke!
Say hi to Duke!

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Duke, a 112-pound, three to four-year-old German Shepherd mix.

“His big bark and size can be a bit intimidating, but he has shown no aggression since being here,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.

“He is skeptical of new people at first, but loves attention and pets once he gets to know you.”

Duke walks good on a leash and does well in a crate.

“We are still learning about him,” Serena said.

“He has not yet been dog or cat-tested, so a meet-and-greet with current household pets is highly recommended.”

Duke is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.

Hunter is a two to three-month-old male kitten.

“He and his siblings were bottle babies, so they are used to being handled,” Serena said.

“They were in a foster home with a small dog and are fun and playful, just typical kittens.”

Hunter is neutered, partially vaccinated and litter box trained.

Hunter's brother Jelly Bean is up for adoption as well.
