This sweet kitten arrived at the shelter as a stray; now she wants a forever home.
One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Shelby, a shy, sweet kitten ready for a family.
“Shelby came to us as a stray with her sisters, Dolly, Jackie and Dempsey, and sadly, they were never reclaimed,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.
“She is a super sweet kitten who can be a little shy at first and may need a day or two to fully warm up, but once she feels comfortable, her playful personality starts to shine.”
Shelby loves playing with toys and sitting by a window.
She would love a patient family who will give her a little time to settle in and let her come out of her shell at her own pace.
Shelby is partially vaccinated and pending her spay.
Caveat is a sweet three-year-old female Lab/Great Pyrenees mix who loves attention and isn't shy about showing her affection.
“She loves giving kisses and being around her people, making her a loving companion for someone looking for a big-hearted girl,” Serena said.
Caveat will likely need a refresher on potty training as she settles into her new home.
She is somewhat crate-trained and may need continued guidance, patience and consistency as she learns a new routine.
Caveat does not do well with other dogs and would do best as the only dog in the home.
She also resource guards her food, so her adopter will need to be mindful of this and provide appropriate management and continued training around mealtimes.
Caveat is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative.
