One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Honks, a seven-month-old male domestic shorthair.
“This poor guy was in very bad shape with severe injuries to his leg and side when he came in,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “He has since healed and is ready to be adopted.”
Honks is a vocal kitty that likes being near people.
“He is a real cuddle bug and loves to bat around toys,” Serena said.
Although his leg is healed, he walks with a limp, but doesn’t let anything slow him down.
Honks is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and litter box trained.

Champ is a two-year-old male American Bully.
“This handsome boy weighs in at a hefty 74 pounds,” Serena said. “He is a big, goofy lovebug with lots of energy.”
Honks has done well with other dogs, but needs to calm down a bit when he greets them.
He is very strong and pulls on a leash; he also needs help potty training.
“He is still very puppy-like in his mannerisms and does not understand that his 70-pound self can't jump on people,” Serena said.
Champ will likely do best in a home without children.
He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative.
