This family-friendly dog has a lot of energy and love to give. Here’s how to meet Sakura.

Sakura

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Sakura, a three to four-year-old female Akita mix.

“This girl is bursting with energy and requires an active lifestyle with plenty of exercise,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “She gets along with other dogs and cats.”

Sakura is very strong and needs more work with a leash. She is a champ in the car and does well when left home alone.

“She is a fantastic family dog, but she is an escape artist so will need a really good fence or to go out on a leash,” Serena said.

Sakura is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heart worm negative and on prevention.

She joined the ECHS family as a puppy in 2020 and was returned in October 2023 for her fence jumping abilities.

Khaleesi is a one to two-year-old female domestic shorthair who arrived at the shelter with five kittens.

“Her kiddos have all been adopted and she is happy to be on her own again,” Serena said. “She enjoys attention and loves to look out windows.”

Khaleesi

Khaleesi doesn't enjoy the company of other cats or dogs while in her kennel, but may do okay in a home with a slow introduction.

Khaleesi is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and litter box trained.

She has been at the shelter since February.
