One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Buford, a two to three-year-old hound mix.

“He is a gentle giant that loves attention,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “He is a lanky, awkward and a comical boy who is sure to bring non-stop entertainment to his owner.

“He likes tug-of-war and enjoys digging in the mud after it rains. He is very vocal when he wants something and is great with other dogs.”

Buford’s foster family says he was the perfect house guest.

He likes to rides in a car, walks well on a leash and enjoys being groomed.

Buford is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.

He has been at the shelter since October 2023.

Freeway is a one-year-old male domestic shorthair.

“He is very people friendly and will chat you up as soon as you walk into the room,” Serena said. “He is a purr machine once you put your hands on him.”

Freeway is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and litter box trained.
