One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Canoe, an adorable seven-month-old Blue Heeler mix who is ready to find a family of her own.
“This sweet girl is full of energy, incredibly playful and always ready for her next adventure,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.
“Canoe is still very much a puppy and is learning what it means to be a good family dog. She is not fully potty trained yet, so her new family will need to be patient and willing to continue working with her.
“She will also need to learn all the basics, including leash manners, basic commands and good house manners.”
Canoe loves people and is always excited to get attention.
Her playful personality and puppy energy make her a great match for an active family who is ready for the fun - and responsibility - that comes with raising a young dog.
If you're looking for a young, energetic companion to grow alongside your family, Canoe may be the perfect girl for you.
She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed.
Casey Jones is a well-socialized, affectionate kitty who loves attention pets and spending time with her people.
“Casey Jones came to us as a stray with her mom and siblings from another litter,” Serena said.
“After settling in and getting plenty of love and socialization, this sweet girl is now ready to find a forever home.”
Casey is litterbox trained and would make a wonderful companion for anyone looking to add a loving feline friend to their family.

She has not been around dogs, so introductions to canine companions should be slow and supervised.
“She should do well with other cats, but since she has mostly been around her siblings, she may need a little time and patience when meeting unfamiliar kitties,” Serena said.
If you're looking for a sweet, social cat to welcome into your home, Casey Jones may be the perfect match!
