And now, four Stephenville residents – Ryan Young, Melodee O’Neal, Clair Cole and Matt Miller - are traveling to Tennessee to compete Sunday in the Ironman Chattanooga, which includes a 116-mile bike ride, 2.4-mile swim and 26.2-mile run.

The four are members of the Stephenville Running Club, which gathered for a celebratory send-off on Wednesday.

“They have been training for the race since April and they are ready,” SRC member Julie Brinkley told Beneath the Surface News. “This is a huge moment for them.”

This will be Ryan’s second time to compete in an Ironman challenge and the first for the other three

Melodee has previously competed in two half Ironman competitions.

SRC member Jason Huffman is competing in the North Texas Ultra on Saturday.
