Tarleton State University’s Wind Ensemble opens the 2023-24 concert season with a 7:30 p.m. offering Thursday, Sept. 28, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center in Stephenville.
Admission is $5 for the public, free for students.
The concert features the co-premier of Randall Standridge’s Symphony No. 1: “A Ghost Story.”
A consortium recently commissioned the piece, and several orchestral groups are taking turns premiering it.
Also highlighted will be Dmitri Shostakovich’s “Festive Overture,” Gustav Holst’s Second Suite in F and Leonard Bernstein’s “Slava!”
