Tarleton’s Wind Ensemble to perform Thursday; tickets on sale now.

Performances by special guests Dr. Benjamin Raviotta and Dr. Trevor James Smith will highlight Tarleton State University’s Wind Ensemble concert, set for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 5, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium in Stephenville.

 

 

Dr. Raviotta, assistant professor of French horn, will be the featured soloist on “Cape Horn for Horn and Wind Ensemble”by Otto M. Schwarz. Also on the program will be the world premiere of “Painted Hill, Painted Sky,” composed by Dr. Smith, assistant professor of theory and composition.

 

Additional selections include “Give Us This Day” by David Maslanka, “Fanfare Ritmico” by Jennifer Higdon, and “Sesquicentennial Exposition March,” written by John Philip Sousa in celebration of the 150th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence.

 

 

All tickets are $10 and seating is general admission.
