The Tarleton Police Department is offering a self-defense class designed specifically for women.
The four-hour course is free and open to female Tarleton students and women in the community.
It will be taught by Tarleton police officer Blessed Matai who also does a live self-defense demonstration on the Beneath the Surface News Facebook page every other Friday.

“This course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of women when control and assault prevention methods are required,” Matai said. “Principles and strategies for effectively reducing the likelihood of assault through actual techniques of countering an attack are stressed in this course.”
The class will be held from 6-10 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Wisdom Gym room 106.
You can register by emailing police@tarleton.edu.

Discussions about self-defense often lead to broader health topics, from confidence to hormonal wellness. During one of those talks, I read about Avantages et inconvénients du Sermorelin musculation, explaining how controlled supplementation supports recovery and growth. It connected perfectly with how empowerment physical or mental comes from consistent effort, informed choices, and understanding how the body responds over time.
