Super people-friendly: Sakura-the-dog and Sassy-the-cat will make excellent family pets.
One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Sakura, a three to four-year-old female Akita mix.
“She is good with cats and other dogs,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “She will make a very good family dog that has older kids.
“She is a very high energy dog that requires lots of exercise and stimulation. She is very strong and pulls hard on the leash and will not stay in a wire crate, but does well when left alone.”
Sakura is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. She was adopted as a puppy in 2020 and returned in October 2023 for escaping from the yard.
Sassy is a two to three-year-old female domestic shorthair.
“She is extremely people-friendly and will start making biscuits when you talk to her,” Serena said.
“Comfy beds are her preferred lounging spot.”
Sassy is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and litter box trained.
She has been at the shelter since January.
