Stephenville's new academy aims to educate citizens about local government. Here’s how to sign up for the free, 9-week program.

The city of Stephenville is inviting the public to learn more about its innerworkings by taking part in the Stephenville Municipal Government Citizens Academy.
This free, nine-week program is designed to give residents a behind-the-scenes look at how local government operates.
Participants will hear directly from each city department, explore facilities and engage with city staff to better understand the services and operations that impact daily life in Stephenville.
The sessions will be held from 6-9 p.m. every Thursday at City Hall beginning in September.
Here’s a look at the schedule:
Sept. 4 - City government
Sept. 11 – Stephenville Police Department
Sept. 18 - Development services
Sept. 25 - Administrative services
Oct. 2 – Stephenville Fire Department
Oct. 9 - Parks & Leisure
Oct. 16 - Public works
Oct. 23 – Finance
Nov. 6 - Graduation ceremony/dinner
Space is limited to just 15 residents and participants must be 18 years or older and reside within the city limits.
