You don’t have to travel all the way to Germany to get a taste of Oktoberfest.
Daiquiriville and the Cross Timbers Legacy Center are partnering to bring the excitement to Stephenville.
Oktoberfest will take place from 3-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, at the Cross Timbers Legacy Center in Stephenville.
There will be German street food, authentic German beer, live music, shopping and activities for people of all ages.
Madie Davidson and Drew Roberson are co-owners of Daiquiriville and pitched the idea about hosting the event to the city.
“Altstadt Brewery from Fredericksburg will be there with its Oktoberfest German beer and a peach rattler,” Madie told Beneath the Surface News.
“And we will have a giant Jenga, Connect 4, cornhole and two bounce houses.”
Doors open at 2:30 p.m. so football fans can catch the Red River Rivalry between OU and Texas on the big screens while enjoying a German beer.
The music starts at 4 p.m. with a Polka band, Carson Van Gundy, Brandon Scott, Danielle Mills, Lyndi Graham and Rehme Thompson.
Greer’s Ranch Café will provide German food like pretzels and brats.
There is no charge to attend the event, but there is a cost for food and drinks.
Other vendors include All Star Cookies, Forgotten Trail Candy Farm Co., Fat Girl Tallow, Southern Reflection Kettle Korn, Juniper Jewelry Bar, 281 Hat Bar, Crazy Candle Co., Poppin Tops Soda Co., From the Ashes Soap Company, Ready Set Root, Cross Roads Boutique and KSB Boutique & Cowhides Galore.
See you there and don’t forget the braids!
