The Stephenville Running Club is celebrating five years of camaraderie with a 5K birthday bash.

The event will take place from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, at the Green Canoe in Hico.

The cost to participate is $30 (click here to sign up) and you must be registered by April 10 to guarantee a T-shirt.

The celebration will include door prizes and birthday cake.

“Our birthday bash has become one of our favorite events of the year,” founder Julie Brinkley told Beneath the Surface News.

“The Stephenville Running Club prides itself on connecting people and believes anyone can become a runner.

“Our motto has always been ‘all faces, paces and races.’”

The SRC has runners of all ages, ability and walks of life.

The club hosts group runs and participates in several running events throughout the year.

It has an active Facebook group that serves as a great resource for motivation and advice.

“We host the annual local turkey trot, numerous social run meet-ups, Cowtown Team, Birthday Bash 5K, and coming up in midsummer, our 3rd annual Beer Run.

“Taking part in an SRC event is one of the best ways to jump into running,” Julie said.

“You’ll connect with other runners and build the confidence it takes to start.

“Our social running events are typically non-chipped time so there’s no pressure, just lots of encouragement and fun.”
