Start your weekend with something sweet. This cast iron apple fritter won’t disappoint.

Nothing smells more like fall than apples and cinnamon.

This easy dessert involves those famous cinnamon rolls and all of the goodness that makes a warm, delicious dessert.

WHAT’S IN IT

2 cans Pillsbury cinnamon rolls

2-3 apples, peeled and chopped

2 tablespoons butter + 1/2 cup melted butter

2 teaspoons apple pie spice

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/3 cup brown sugar

4 oz. chopped pecans

vanilla ice cream for serving

HOW TO MAKE IT

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Spray cast iron with butter spray and set aside.

Peel and chop apples, then mix with 2 tablespoons of butter, apple spice, cinnamon, and vanilla in a pan over medium heat, stirring frequently for about 10 minutes or until the apples are soft.

Cut the cinnamon rolls into fourths and spread into skillet.

Spread the apples on top of the cinnamon rolls.

Melt 1/2 cup of butter and the brown sugar in the microwave for about 30 seconds.

Spread the butter and sugar mixture and pecans on top of the apples.

Bake for 25 minutes.

Serve alone or top with ice cream!
