SOAR Physical Therapy opens in Stephenville and the new clinic offers free consultations.
As an athlete growing up in Stephenville, Jeffrey Bierman was no stranger to sports-related injuries.
“I spent a lot of time in the training room and watched a lot of my friends suffer injuries while playing sports,” Bierman told Beneath the Surface News during an interview at his new clinic in Stephenville.
When his older brother John became a physical therapist, he encouraged Jeffrey to follow suit.
After graduating from Texas State University with a degree in exercise and sports science in 2010, Jeffrey was accepted into the university’s physical therapy program and graduated with a doctorate in 2015.
Since then, he has worked as a physical therapist in Stephenville, but in January 2022, opened his own clinic.
SOAR Physical Therapy, located at 2187 W. South Loop (behind HEB), offers personalized care for orthopedic conditions like post-surgical rehab, back pain, sports injuries, joint pain, vestibular conditions, concussion rehab and TMJ.
“We also offer sports injury prevention screenings, fall risk screenings for elderly people and dry needling services,” Bierman said.
He added that the cash-based clinic gives him the ability to give people the individualized attention they need, rather than working in a hurried atmosphere or with numerous patients.
“Being a cash-based clinic allows me to see people one-on-one the whole time,” Bierman said. “Patients can use their insurance, but have to submit their own claims, unless they are Medicare patients, and then we will do it for them.”
Low back pain is the most common complaint Bierman says he hears from patients and it’s often treated using heat electrical stimulation, stretching and core strengthening.
