SISD board of trustees expected to name interim superintendent, search firm on Wednesday.
The Stephenville ISD board of trustees is expected to make a big announcement on Wednesday when it names its interim superintendent.
Superintendent Matt Underwood told Beneath the Surface News that he also expects the board to announce a search firm to help find the district’s permanent superintendent.
Kathy Hampton, executive director of HR and student services, is expected to apply for the position, and because of that, will not be appointed to fill the interim role.
“The board does not want to give anyone an unfair advantage,” Underwood said.
Underwood’s last day with the district is Aug. 31. He is leaving after seven years to become the next senior vice president of Erath and Brown counties for Ranger College.
Wednesday’s meeting will begin at 6 p.m.
