SHS’s Theatrical Design Team wins STATE

It was a good day for Stephenville High School’s UIL Theatrical Design Team on Monday when the group learned it won State.

“The first round of the UIL Theatrical Design competition was held in February with the State Qualifiers announced the second week of March,” said Emily McLemore, who coaches the team with Mindy Pope. “With schools closed and all events cancelled, the qualifying work was judged online and a video awards ceremony was held Monday afternoon.”

Members of the Theatrical Design Team include Emma Lannin, Lexi McLemore, Lauren Pope and Maeci Ray.

Ray took 2nd in Individual Makeup Design, Emma Pope won 4th in Individual Makeup Design and Kacie Everett won 5th in Individual Set Design.

“We are so proud of these students,” McLemore said.
