Erath County law enforcement agencies worked together to make Christmas a little extra special for 60 kids on Thursday through a program called “Shop with a Cop.”

“Our 4th annual Shop with a Cop is our largest so far,” Stephenville Police Chief Dan Harris told Beneath the Surface News. “We spent over $15,000 on 60 kids to make their Christmas extra special.

“We are so blessed to protect and serve such a great community and county. We could not do this without the love and support of so many generous donors. We can’t thank them enough.”

The kids started the day with breakfast at The Purple Goat, then headed to Walmart with an epic police escort for a shopping spree.

Officers and deputies with the Erath County Sheriff’s Office, Dublin, Tarleton and Stephenville police departments and Department of Public Safety helped the kids pick out their gifts.
