Shop local: Your guide to Black Friday and Small Business Saturday steals and deals.
If you haven’t already started your holiday shopping, this is the weekend you must get started.
There will be sales galore for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday and you can (and should) stay right here at home for all the best deals.
I spoke to my advertisers about their best steals of the season and this is what you can expect.
(Insider tip: Many of the merchants located near the downtown square and plaza will be staying open late on Saturday for the city’s lighted Christmas parade and that will be a perfectly festive time to take advantage of these great specials.)
SHOPPING, GIVEAWAYS AND EXTENDED HOURS
Willow’s Scarlet Ribbon: Located just off the courthouse square, Willow’s will be closed on Friday, but is one of the businesses staying open late on Saturday.
The boutique has gorgeous handmade turquoise jewelry, Consuela bags and beautiful faux fur wraps that are perfect for that special night out on the town (and they are only $89.99).
Willow’s will also give away a special holiday basket and have drawings for door prizes all day long!
CHEERFUL HEART GIFTS & BOUTIQUE: Stephenville’s newest retailer located in the former Fiddle Creek Restaurant on Swan Street is giving shoppers 10% off purchases when they spend $75 and 20% off when they spend $150 or more this weekend. That’s quite a deal!
CHAMPS VITAMIN SHOP: ‘Tis the season to keep your health in check and Champs, located on the SW Loop, is giving shoppers a chance to do just that.
The store specializes in vitamins and supplements and is offering a buy one, get 30% off a second sale all day on Black Friday! (I’m thinking stocking stuffers!)
THOMPSON’S CUSTOM MEATS & PROCESSING: It’s time to stock up the freezer for all those holiday dinners and Thompson’s Meats, located in Dublin, is offering frozen ground beef for $3.50/pound. They are also selling whole beef tenderloins for $14.99/pound and whole bone-in pork shoulder roasts for $2.59/pound.
But you better hurry, this Black Friday offer is only good while supplies last!
(Thompson’s also has a couple of smoked turkeys ready to go and fresh turkeys available for sale now!)
FRAMES ETC: This longtime downtown boutique will have giveaways all day on Saturday and The Grinch and Cindy Lou will be there from 2-5 p.m. for photos so bring the kids. They will love it!
FUN AND ENTERTAINMENT
PINSPIRATION STEPHENVILLE: This gorgeous DIY craft studio located on the courthouse square is packed full of fun this weekend.
Black Friday deals include $75 splatter dates, $15 splatter experiences and 20% off all bookings.
But that’s not all!
Pinspiration is hosting a Santa’s Workshop on Saturday. Did you hear that?! A Santa’s Workshop!
Children will have a chance to interact with Santa and have their picture taken in a photo booth with varying Christmas backdrops; DIY Christmas gifts and wrapping; discounts and a chance to win door prizes!
And don’t forget, Pinspiration has a fantastic menu of snacks (think s’mores!) and beer and wine for that celebratory toast!
LUCKY VINES VINEYARD AND WINERY: Located between Stephenville and Dublin, this award-winning winery will be open from 1-8 p.m. on Black Friday.
But here’s the best part: That’s also the day Lucky Vines will release its 2019 Cordelia and offer free tastings or flights until 4 p.m.
(And after all that shopping, you are going to need a glass or two of vino!)
This festive day will also include live music by Holli Garet on the piano from 4-7 p.m.
STUDIO 6:14 DANCE & PERFORMING ARTS: This local dance studio is waiving the registration fee on Black Friday and Cyber Monday and offering $5 off on a dance wear package for new students.
HEARSAY WINE BAR: This gorgeous downtown hotspot will be closed on Friday, but open early on Saturday with $10 carafes of mimosas from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m., making it the perfect place to stop for a rest during all that shopping!
And Hearsay’s downtown location is the perfect spot to catch Saturday night’s parade and fireworks show.
