One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Howlywood, a three to four-year-old male heeler mix.

“This handsome guy was brought in as a stray and never reclaimed, but he hasn't let that dim his big, lovable personality,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.

“He is a friendly, rambunctious boy who lives for attention. He adores people, does great with kids, strangers and even cats.”

Howlywood would do best as the only dog in the home (and no livestock, please), where he can soak up all the love for himself.

True to his heeler roots, Howlywood is energetic, playful and can be a little rambunctious when he's excited, but it's all part of his spirited charm.

He'll thrive with an active family committed to helping him polish his manners and giving him plenty of exercise.

He loves walks, car rides and is always up for an adventure or a cuddle session under a cozy blanket.

Howlywood is potty trained when kept on a consistent schedule and does well with routine.

Apartment life likely isn't his style since he's not shy about using his voice, especially if left alone.

Howlywood is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative and on prevention.

Ebeneezer is a five to six-year-old male domestic shorthair who's as resilient as he is lovable.

“He came to us a little roughed up, but now he's healthy, happy and ready for a forever home,” Serena said.

“Ebeneezer has a recessed eye that gives him a unique look, but it doesn't bother him or slow him down one bit.”

This friendly, social boy loves pets and attention.

He's quite the chatterbox and will happily follow you from room to room just to be near his people.

At night, he's all about snuggling up in bed, and during the day he enjoys batting around his ball track and chasing wand toys.

Ebeneezer prefers to keep all four paws on the ground, he's not big on being picked up, but he more than makes up for it with affection and companionship.

In his foster home, he did well with resident cats.

He may try to be a little bossy with smaller cats at first, but he settles in and has even shown a soft spot for kittens.

He remains calm and non-aggressive, even if another cat doesn't care for him.

He's not a fan of overly energetic dogs, and any introductions to calmer pups should be slow and thoughtful.

Ebeneezer is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed.
