Saturday’s pet costume contest, bake sale benefits Erath County Humane Society.

You can find this cute costume on Amazon.

Halloween isn’t just for kids.

Pets can get in on the action too on Saturday when the Erath County Humane Society hosts a “Howl-o-ween” event for our furry friends from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Pet Supplies Plus in Stephenville.

ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News that there will be a pet costume contest at 2 p.m.

There is a $5 registration fee.

Then stick around to purchase a few goodies at the bake sale. Proceeds benefit ECHS.

According to Canine Journal, more than a half a billion dollars will be spent this year on costumes for pets.

The website states that pumpkin and hot dog costumes are annual fan favorites followed by bats, bumblebees, spiders, witches and lions.
