Ruffles, Henderson Junior High’s emotional support dog, goes missing.

It’s been more than 24 hours since Ruffles, a six-year-old Poodle, slipped out of her caretaker’s home at the Diamond C Ranch Estates off Hwy. 281 in Erath County, and hasn’t been seen since.
Now, her caretaker, Brittany Howell, is working desperately to find her.
“Ruffles has a teddy bear haircut and looks a Doodle,” Brittany told Beneath the Surface News.
“She’s a well-trained dog and always comes home, so we are worried.”
Ruffles slipped outside without her collar and went exploring about 8:30 a.m. Sunday with another one of the family’s dogs.
Brittany said the other dog was wearing its collar so she was able to track the duo heading toward US Hwy. 281.
“I was driving a Ranger and wasn’t too far behind them when I saw a white pickup drive past them and make a U-turn,” Brittany said.
Suddenly, Ruffles was gone.
The family’s other pup made it home, but Brittany and her husband Keith are concerned that the man in the pickup has Ruffles.
“We have three girls and we are all distraught,” Keith said. “We want to do everything we can to find her.”
Ruffles is a facility dog at Henderson Junior High School, trained in giving emotional support to teachers and students.
Anyone with information about Ruffles is asked to call 254-592-9165.
There is now a $2,000 reward for the tip that brings Ruffles home.
