Restaurants get green light from state to increase capacity to 75%; bars can reopen to 50%.

Updated: Mar 4, 2021

Restaurants in Erath County have been given the green light to increase customer capacity to 75 percent.

Erath County Judge Alfonso Campos confirmed to Beneath the Surface News on Saturday that his office received notification about the executive order from the Texas Department of State Health Services on Feb. 16.

The letter states that several counties were included in the order after Covid-related hospitalizations were less than 15 percent of capacity for seven consecutive days.

“This includes Erath County, which now allows all of our restaurants to increase capacity to 75 percent and allows bars to reopen at 50 percent capacity,” Campos stated in a text message to BTS News.

I spoke with several local restaurant owners on Saturday asking if they had been informed about the executive order and was told that they had not been notified by county officials.

Some of the other counties included in the executive order are Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Hood, Palo Pinto, Tarrant, Parker and Somervell.
