BTS NEWS report
The Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council is inviting the public to release its inner artist from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 4) with a special event at its River North Gallery.
Social distancing guidelines will be practiced during Express Yourself! by Painting on Paper Outdoors” event that will include an exhibit featuring large abstractions by Texas artist Jane Hickie.
Five pieces of Hickie’s art will be displayed outside the River North Gallery.
Guests will be provided with paint, paint brushes and a large pad of paper (which will be hanging outside on the building) so they can create their own piece of art.
There will be food, drink and live music by Sam Lopez and Stacey Sliger with the Immediate Blues Band.
Fisher Rinderknecht with Flight Reach Productions will take photos of guests’ artwork to showcase in a virtual gallery.
CTFAC executive director Christine Newton said she is thrilled to host such a unique event.
“You don’t have to be a professional artist to participate, just bring your great sense of fun and we will provide the rest,” Newton said. “It’s safe for all ages to enjoy and it’s free to the public.”
