Public invited to Fields of Gold release party this week at Hearsay Wine Bar.

The public will get its first official chance to sample a new wine label when Hearsay Wine Bar hosts a release party for Fields of Gold on Thursday.

The man behind the label, Drew Roberson, told Beneath the Surface News that the celebration will include tastings of its chardonnay and cabernet.

“I’m really looking forward to people getting their first taste of Fields of Gold,” Drew said. “It’s going to be a great night.”

Drew spent more than a year working with his employer Summerland Wine Brands to develop Fields of Gold, which honors his son Ryan, who was only 20 years old when he passed away from Ewing’s Sarcoma in 2019.

Ryan loved to play baseball, and the label, designed in part by Stephenville resident Stephanie Beach, includes a photo of him on the pitcher’s mound.

Each bottle sales for $9.99, and for every one sold, $1 is donated to the Little Warrior Foundation, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Thursday’s event will be held from 6-8 p.m.

Hearsay will be taking pre-orders of the wine and will be available for pickup next week.

“I want to see Fields of Gold being sold in every ballpark in the country,” Drew said. “For people to be able to have a glass of chardonnay and know they are giving back to help find a cure for childhood cancer is a great thing.”

I hope to see you there on Thursday.
