Public invited to capstone exhibits highlighting work of Tarleton’s student-artists.

Eleven students graduating this fall from Tarleton State University’s Department of Visual Arts and Design will showcase their work in senior capstone exhibits Oct. 24-Nov. 21 at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Gallery.

The capstone shows are an opportunity for student-artists to mount a professional display of creative work in the fields they intend to pursue. Because of the number of graduates, the gallery will host three exhibitions.

The first show, Oct. 24-31, will be a group effort by Alicia German, Caleb Spenrath, Tayler Fite and Royce Rueda featuring graphic design, animation and interactive media.

Next up, Nov. 2-10, Lucas Quirl, Bethany Adcock, Victoria Mayfield and Jasmine Sotelo-Lambert will present a variety of projects from game design, video production, photography and mixed media.

The Nov. 14-21 exhibition highlights the digital illustration and animation work of Nicole Hernandez, Cassidy Young and Carly Speck.

“This group represents the variety and breadth of our art and digital media programs at Tarleton,” said senior adviser Chris Ireland.

“Each week there will be new and interesting forms of work that our seniors have worked very hard to complete. Our students understand the level of intensity that must go into their craft in order to produce work that reaches a wide audience.”
