Picture-perfect Dorothy will make a great companion; this sweet girl is up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society.

Say hi to Dorothy!

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Dorothy, a picture-perfect three to four-year-old Blue Heeler mix.

“Sweet Dorothy is very affectionate,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News. “Life at the shelter makes her nervous, but she absolutely loves pets and treats.”

Dorothy can be a little shy when she meets new people, but warms up quickly.

She walks well on a leash, knows basic commands and is crate-trained, but prefers to snuggle on the couch.

Dorothy is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and heart worm negative.

“She will make a great companion,” Serena said.

Dorothy has been at the shelter since the beginning of March.

Sophie is a one to two-year-old female Siamese.

“This lovable lady was feral when she came to us, but has since learned that food, treats and pets aren’t so bad,” Serena said. “She loves getting attention and is pretty vocal.”

Sophie does not like to be held and will need some patience while getting used to her new home.

She is spayed, fully vaccinated, wormed, microchipped and litter box trained.

Sophie has been at the shelter since early February.
