Huston Academy has started a new organization aimed at bringing together kids and adults living with disabilities.
Cassie Petty is a special education teacher who said bringing people with disabilities together has been her longtime passion.
“I think people need connections and people with disabilities might lack the opportunity to develop those connections,” Cassie told Beneath the Surface News.
“So we started Panther Party as a way to foster those relationships.”
The organization will kick off with a spaghetti dinner from 6-8 p.m. Feb. 20 at the school, located at 680 Peach Orchard Road in Stephenville.
The dinner is free and open to anyone living with a disability and their families.
Please RSVP to 254-965-4030 or email cpetty@erath-excels.org.
More socials are planned in the coming months with a movie night on March 26.
