This Valentine’s Day, Rough Creek Lodge invites couples to celebrate love with an elevated, multi-course dining experience crafted by Executive Chef Gerard Thompson, alongside Chef de Cuisine Raul Mujica and Sous Chef James Sowders.

Set within the resort’s refined yet rustic dining room, the prix-fixe Valentine’s menu highlights luxury ingredients, Texas-inspired flavors, and indulgent pairings designed for an unforgettable evening.

Guests can choose between a one-night Valentine’s Day stay on Saturday, Feb. 14, or a two-night Valentine’s weekend getaway on Feb. 13–14 starting at $599 room rate only per night.

You can choose to upgrade to two other packages which include champagne and strawberries upon arrival, a $200 resort credit per stay, and Zagat Award–winning dinner and dessert, along with Rough Creek’s signature breakfast buffet.

Rough Creek will have live music in its Great Room Friday and Saturday.

The $200 resort credit may be applied toward a 50-minute massage or facial, horseback riding, five-stand shooting, or clay shooting, allowing guests to customize their stay.

Deluxe room accommodations are included, with upgraded rooms and late check-out offered based on availability. Suites, cabins, and rental homes accommodating four to 15 guests are also available for an additional charge.

THE MENU

The evening begins with A Gift from the Chef — an exclusive opening bite — followed by a choice of first courses including oak-grilled Texas quail with sherry maple glaze, Maine lobster and shrimp tossed with house-made noodles, Texas Gulf shrimp chowder with scallion biscuit, or a baby iceberg lettuce wedge finished with green chile buttermilk ranch.

Entrée selections range from potato-crusted Chilean sea bass with orange soy ginger glaze and skillet-roasted chicken or duck breast with apple–butternut squash purée, to oak-roasted Texas antelope (nilgai) and an indulgent oak-smoked beef tenderloin paired with grilled lobster tail.

The experience concludes with an assortment of house-made desserts, offering a sweet ending to the celebration.

Featured wines by the glass and bottle — including sparkling, rosé, and premium California and European selections — will be available to complement the menu.
