New restaurant, fantastic breakfast. Think omelettes, crepes, eggs benedict and pumpkin pancakes!

I’m not much of a breakfast eater, but I was on Wednesday morning when I met three ladies for a committee meeting at Triple G Café, located next to the movie theater in the Bosque River Center.

The former building looks nothing like the days it spent as the famed Golden China. The Asian vibe has been replaced with a cozy, down home feel that makes you want to order a big plate of pancakes and enjoy an extra cup of coffee.

And that’s just what we did.

I had a garden omelette made with mushrooms, onion, green pepper, tomato, black olives and spinach egg whites. It was delicious!

The extensive breakfast menu also includes six versions of eggs benedict, crepes (think strawberry-banana, peaches and cream, lemon, caramel apple, banana Nutella and Swedish lingonberries), classic egg combos and pancakes.

(I did a double take when a waitress walked by with a warm stack dripping with sprinkles, icing and whip cream and handed the plate to a little boy. Lucky kid!)

And yeah, they serve pumpkin pancakes too! In fact, they are now offering a pumpkin combo that includes two eggs, bacon, hash browns and two pumpkin pancakes for $6.99.

Triple G Café also serves hamburgers and a host of delicious-looking sandwiches like the Reuben, Philly Cheesesteak, crab cake sliders, Cuban and cranberry turkey.

The restaurant is open from 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. daily.

Stop by and give it a try!

And if you get the pumpkin pancakes, drop me a line and let me know how they are.
