More than good customer service: Mattressville celebrates 5-year anniversary with ‘thank you’ sale.

Inspirational speaker Danielle LaPorte once said, “Prioritizing good sleep is good self love.”

David Davis and Brandon McDonald, owners of Mattressville, have been helping area residents prioritize sleep now for five years.

The partners first opened the mattress store in Stephenville in 2017. Two years later they opened a second in Early and just last year they opened a third location in Granbury.

I met with David and Brandon inside their spacious store in Stephenville to talk about Mattressville’s five-year anniversary.

“Justin Haschke was the first person who bought a mattress from us,” Brandon told Beneath the Surface News.

And it didn’t take long for others to follow suit.

Business at Mattressville is good, really good, and that success can be attributed to exceptional customer service and the owners’ willingness to give back to the communities they serve.

“When we first opened, I had the thought that people should be able to come in, pick out a mattress and our staff would be able to say, ‘Would you like that delivered today or tomorrow?’” David said.

When the COVID-19 pandemic prompted concerns about production shortages, the men took measures to double their inventory, making that instant delivery a sure thing in most cases.

“Every store has a warehouse and we have a huge inventory,” Brandon said. “We like to say, ‘It’s in stock and ready to rock.’”

Shoppers who step inside Mattressville’s showroom will find a variety of mattresses for every budget with top brands like Tempur-Pedic, Stearns & Foster, Sealy and Nectar.

“We also carry a more affordable line of mattresses we call ‘Valueville,’” David said. “It’s a popular line for children, guest rooms and cabins. We have twins that start at $99.”

Mattressville’s non-commissioned sales staff prides itself on customer service.

Ira Goodman is the general manager who oversees all three locations.

“Ira was the first person we hired, so he has been with us since the beginning,” Brandon said. “He is the best at taking care of people and he knows how to fix a problem.”

Mattressville offers a 90-day comfort guarantee and free delivery. (They will even whisk away your old mattress.)

“Our mission is to be the most helpful mattress store in town,” Brandon said. “We are not going to stick you with a mattress you don’t like. Our job is to guide customers to find the perfect mattress that fits their budget. We make the process easy.”

Mattressville is open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

‘THANK YOU’ SALE

David and Brandon won’t call their five-year celebration an “anniversary sale.”

“This is a ‘thank you’ to our customers and the community that has supported us for the past five years,” David said.

Mattressville is offering a number of good deals through the end of March:

• Purchase a Stearns & Foster mattress, get a free box spring.

• Purchase a Sealy hybrid, get $200 in free accessories like pillows, sheets or mattress protectors.

• Buy a Tempur-Pedic, receive $300 in free accessories.

Mattressville is also offering 50% off TempSync and Body Chemistry pillows and full-size mattresses for $189.

TURKEYS, SNO CONES AND MUCH MORE

What you might not know about Mattressville’s owners is quite possibly the most important thing: These guys are generous.

Every year they host “The Great Turkey Giveaway,” which provides 2,000 pounds of free turkeys to residents in Stephenville, Early and Granbury.

“We do it the week before Thanksgiving and we give the turkeys to anyone who shows up,” Brandon said.

They also have a soft spot for the Foster’s Home for Children, providing mattresses and pillows for every child who lives there.

When summer rolls around those same kids are treated to free sno cones every month.

They also donate to local charitable events like this weekend’s penny auction hosted by the Zonta Club.

“We donated a Malouf carbon cool pillow ($200 value),” Brandon said. “It’s our number one seller.”

So, if you’re looking to feel a little more rested in the mornings, stop by Mattressville and let a member of their expert sales team guide you to the perfect mattress.

“And remember, everyone sleeps better in Mattressville.”
