Stephenville’s annual Moo-La Fest is making its return June 2-3 at City Park and this year’s event is one you don’t want to miss.

Michaela Bierman, director of the city’s Tourism and Visitor’s Bureau, told Beneath the Surface News that a slew of new events have been added to the schedule.

“We will have ax throwing, robotic pony competitions like team roping and barrel racing, a mechanical bull, mobile learning barn hosted by Farm Bureau, and of course, tethered hot air balloon rides and the carnival,” she said.

Carnival Americana will be open at Stephenville City Park Thursday, June 1, through Sunday, June 4.

Armbands with unlimited access to rides are $30 and individual tickets are $1 (each ride requires 3-5 tickets).

“One of the big things we are adding this year is shade,” Michaela said. “We will have a giant tent set up and that’s where cornhole, ax throwing and mini golf will be held.”

There will also be a slew of food, music and shopping, but more on that later.

And don’t forget about Moo-ve It, the 5k, 10K and one-mile fun run happening Saturday, June 3, at City Park.

Runners and walkers who want to take part and guarantee themselves a T-shirt must register by May 4.

Early registration is $25 and $30 on race day.

Runners competing in the 10K will start at 8 a.m.; walkers/runners in the 5K will start at 8:15 and the one-mile fun run (strollers welcome) begins at 8:30.
