Say hi to Misty.
Say hi to Misty.

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Misty, a beautiful one to two-year-old domestic shorthair with a gentle heart and playful spirit.

“This sweet girl came to us after the other cats in her home weren't so kind to her,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.

“But despite her past, Misty is still full of love and ready for a fresh start.”

Misty can be a little shy at first and may hide when meeting new people, but give her a little time and patience and you'll see her true colors shine.

Once she feels safe, she transforms into a total love bug who adores attention and interactive play.

One of her favorite pastimes is zooming through play tunnels.

She does well with other friendly, non-dominant cats, but hasn't been tested around dogs or children.

With a calm, loving environment, Misty will blossom into a loyal and affectionate companion.

Misty is spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Bella is a three to four-year-old Catahoula mix with a heart full of love and energy to spare.

“Bella was originally adopted from us in 2022, but was sadly returned after proving herself to be a bit too adventurous; she can climb chainlink fences and would often go exploring in the road,” Serena said.

Bella is such a cutie!
Bella is such a cutie!

“Because of this, Bella must have a tall privacy fence if she's going to be left outside unsupervised.”

Bella is sweet, friendly and has never met a stranger.

She's fantastic with kids and does well with other dogs (although she can be a little overexcited at first and needs time to settle).

She's not a fan of cats and tends to chase them, and her behavior around livestock is unknown.

This happy girl is house and crate-trained and she does well in a car.

She's treat-motivated, excitable and pulls on the leash, but with consistent training and structure, she'll thrive in the right home.

Bella is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up-to-date on DHPP and Bordetella vaccines.

Her adopters will need to get her rabies vaccine.

Bella is a free spirit with a big personality and an even bigger heart.

If you're looking for a playful, loyal companion who's always ready for adventure -and you have a secure yard - Bella might be your perfect match!
