Meet Team Horton: “I have always had a secret aspiration to be a professional dancer."

Case and Emily Horton

Case and Emily Horton are one of five local teams competing in this year’s Dancing For the Stars event benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erath County.

The event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 4, at Lone Star Arena.

Beneath the Surface News asked the couple a few questions about their experience so far, and the following are their very entertaining answers.

Case is the owner of Tanglewood Medical Supplies and Preferred Properties of Texas. His gorgeous wife Emily is a stylist.

WHY ARE YOU COMPETING IN DANCING FOR THE STARS?

I was asked nicely by Mrs. Renee Thompson and I thought it would be fun as I have always had a secret aspiration to be a professional dancer.” – Case

“My husband begged me to. This is WAY out of my comfort zone!” - Emily

DO EITHER OF YOU HAVE PRIOR DANCE EXPERIENCE?

“If you count watching World of Dance and AGT, then yes, I have years of experience. Oh, and dancing at the bar while in college, though that was more than 20 years ago. Crap, I hate saying that!” – Case

“No dancing experience, but my daughters and I like to make up choreographed dances. Does that count?” - Emily

WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST CHALLENGING PART OF TRAINING FOR THE COMPETITION?

“Getting my wife to trust that I won’t drop her on her head, and hey, that has only happened once.” – Case

“I am a scaredy-cat and being brave and trusting my husband not to drop me.” - Emily

WHO IS THE BETTER DANCER?

“My wife!” – Case

“We are probably tied!” - Emily

ANY INJURIES OR MISHAPS?

“I spun Emily into a wall and she knocked me through a wall, so I guess we are even.” - Case
