Meet Chopper and Glimmer: This week’s featured dog, cat like to cuddle and play. Dang, they’re cute!

Say hi to Chopper!

One of this week’s featured pets up for adoption at the Erath County Humane Society is Chopper, a three to four-year-old male Catahoula/Hound mix.

“He loves to cuddle and has tons of energy,” ECHS executive director Serena Wright told Beneath the Surface News.

Chopper likes to run around and play with squeaky toys. He is house trained, but might need a refresher course.

“He doesn't like to stay in a crate for long, but he does really well when left home alone,” Serena said.

Chopper doesn’t do well with other dogs or cats, so should be the only dog in the home.

He walks well on a leash, is neutered, partially vaccinated (needs rabies), microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.

Chopper was adopted in 2020 and was not neutered at the time.

He was brought back to the shelter in June 2022 for being aggressive toward another unaltered male.

Glimmer is a two to three-year-old female domestic shorthair.

Glimmer

She is a very sweet girl that loves attention,” Serena said. “It took her a few days to come out of her shell and get comfortable with us, but she is such a happy girl and she makes so many biscuits.”

Glimmer doesn’t like being in a cat carrier and will cry until she is let out. Serena said she has a lazy streak and will even lay down to eat.

She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and litterbox trained.

Glimmer has been at the shelter since August.
